Overbye Owner Operators Ready for Brake Safety Week, Sept. 11-17, 2011 Overbye Transport takes safety seriously and it has instructed its owner operators to be ready for “brake week”.  In terms of employment, Overbye is a 100% owner operator Minnesota trucking company. The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance is conducting a national inspection program of commercial vehicles and drivers starting Sept. 11, with an emphasis on brake safety. This is an educational event, not one of enforcement.  Inspectors from CVSA will meet drivers at locations where mechanics and drivers get together.   CVSA experts will inspect transport trucks and educate drivers on how to inspect and maximize their braking systems. This campaign will run a full week 9/11 thru 9/17.  The inspection procedure involves a check of the driver’s license, CMV registration, low air warning devices, pushrod travel (adjustments), brake linings/drums, air loss rate and tractor protection system.  Overbye’s owner operators have been  instructed by Overbye to make sure their tractor’s brake system is in good shape and will pass this inspection.  They also must perform a thorough inspection of the trailer to be sure it is defect-free and will pass an inspection. Owner operators seeking employment are encouraged to contact Russ Cramer at Overbye Transport.  ]]>
